Annual Banned Book Event
Tuesday, Sept. 23rd at 7pm  at Water Street Bookstore in Exeter
Join us for a night of celebrating our freedom to read! Every year, hundreds of books are censored by schools, libraries, and other institutions, sometimes for something as slight as personal preference. Join us as we do our small part to celebrate those books and everyone's freedom to read what they want! Come hear local community leaders read from classical books that have been banned from some schools and libraries.
Devon Chaffee, Executive Director of the New Hampshire Civil Liberties Union, will open the evening with a brief presentation about the importance of the First Amendment, freedom of speech and freedom to read and freedom from censorship. You will also hear from:
Karen Prior, Community Activist: Where the Wild Things Areby Maurice Sendak
