The ACLU of New Hampshire is deeply saddened by the passing of Arpy Saunders, our dear friend and fierce civil rights advocate. Arpy had a long and distinguished involvement with the ACLU, starting from his work on ACLU’s National Prison Project in Washington D.C. in the 1970s. He continued to pursue his passion for civil rights with his election to the Board of Directors of the ACLU of New Hampshire, where he served with distinction for more than two decades until 2000. We mourn his passing and offer our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
