“The extreme abortion ban and provision to censor critical discussions on race and gender included in this budget have no place in New Hampshire. For months, we have advocated that these provisions are not only wrong, but dangerous with the potential to further harm already marginalized communities. Systemic racism is here in New Hampshire. The attack on reproductive rights, with a full-blown abortion ban and mandatory ultrasound requirement, is here in New Hampshire. And now we are facing the likely censorship of New Hampshire schools and workplaces. Due to these serious civil rights concerns, we call on Governor Sununu to veto the budget.”
